About Our Firm

 Originally from Sacramento, CA, I graduated from Sonoma State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Accounting.  Following graduation, I worked for several years in public accounting in the Sacramento region before my path in life led me to Humboldt County in November 2010. I immediately began working with a local CPA firm – Aalfs, Evans & Company.  I went on to obtain my CPA license in October 2012 and continued to work with Aalfs, Evans & Company until August 2019 when I made the decision to open up my own firm, Champ CPA Group. I love working in public accounting, not just because I am a “numbers guy”, but because I enjoy helping and working with my clients. I also enjoy serving and interacting with the local community and have been a member of the Southwest Eureka Rotary Club since November 2014 where I work closely with our Youth Services.  Currently I live in Eureka with my two beautiful daughters, Amara & Eliana and handsome little man, my son Isaiah. Outside of work, I enjoy spending all of my time with them for ballet, soccer, basketball or whatever their current extracurricular activity may be, as well as camping, traveling to see family & friends (namely my good friends Jalé and E.L., founding members of the 3 Messiahs and without whom none of this would’ve been possible) and of course during football season, putting on our jerseys to watch Carolina Panther football.
